This unique and challenging project was to design, fabricate and install custom light shelves/solar panels for every window around the top perimeter of this “Platinum Lead Certified” national well-known grocery store. We wrapped each welded steel frame with “Mermet Silverscreen” a high tech solar fabric, and installed all the individual frames at a 30-degree angle to glass panes of all the windows. This allowed the light of the sun to be reflected off the ceiling, then downward toward the floor, thus eliminating approximately 60% of light fixtures to be installed, and ultimately 60% of energy costs to be consumed.
